BCU Coaching Courses

All persons wishing to take a coaching award must be a comprehensive member of their Home Nation (e.g. Canoe England), and must register for the award with their home nation by obtaining a stamped CR form, before attending the course.
Membership and registration details can be obtained from www.canoe-england.co.uk or by ringing Canoe England on 0845 3709500. Please allow at least 14 days for processing forms.
The stamped forms and all first aid and star awards must be brought to both weekends of the course.

BCU UKCC Level 1 Coach Training
(Minimum age 16) This it the entry level kayak and canoe Coach Award. The course is two weekends and includes training and assessment. The pre requires for attending a BCU UKCC Level 1 coach course at HYMB are:- BCU 2 star (New style assessed in both canoe and Kayak) And Foundation Safety & Rescue (FSR) A first aid certificate is recommended though not required

Foundation Safety and Rescue
(14 to 90 year olds. 2 Star required) Foundation Safety and Rescue is a prerequisite for Level 1 Coach. This course covers the main safety points of canoeing including rescues and casualty care.
