HYMB: Junior Windsurfing Courses

Tclub Sailing & Windsurfing

(9 to 16 years old)
Tclub Sailing and Windsurfing runs from 4.30pm to 6.30pm on Tuesday afternoons, during school term time only. No experience is necessary. During the weekly sessions participants will learn the basics of sailing in single and double-handed dinghys, and develop their skills. Opportunities will be available to attend courses, day and weekend trips subject to meeting some minimum
requirements.

Beginner Windsurfing Course

(9 to 16 years old. No experience necessary)
The Beginners Windsurfing course is for complete beginners or for those who have participated in taster sessions. The course is run to the RYA Level 1 syllabus; however weather conditions may mean that an assessment cannot be made. During the course you will learn the basics of windsurfing so that you can windsurf in light winds. Once you have done the course you can get practice at Tclubs on Mondays.

Improver Windsurfing Courses

(9 to 16 year olds. Must have attended a beginners course)
The Improvers Windsurfing Course will help develop the skills that you learnt for stage 1. You will learn new and faster methods of turning, and how to sail your board towards and away from the wind.
This course is also suitable for more experienced windsurfers who want to have some fun on the water.
We recommend that you have had some Windsurfing experience since doing the Beginners Course. This can be gained on T-club Windsurf on Tuesday

Day trip windsurfing
(11 to 18 year olds. RYA Stage 2 required) An opportunity to sail on a larger lake for the day. This trip will meet at Fishers Green Car park at 9.30 promptly. You will need to bring a packed lunch, drink, sun cream, sun hat and a complete change of clothes. HYMB will supply all specialist equipment needed.
