Adult Sailing

Set in the Heart of The River Lee Country Park, HYMB is a beautiful, picturesque and peaceful place to learn to sail. The lake here offers perfect sheltered waters for you to learn and practice your skills.

We offer a wide range of sailing courses, from complete beginners to improvers. We also offer clubs during weekdays to improve your skills. All the courses are delivered according to the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) standards and run by experienced qualified RYA Instructors.

Learn the fundamentals of Sailing The RYA Start Sailing (Level One) course, aims to provide an introduction to sailing for beginners. By the end of the course, you will have a basic understanding of dingy-handling techniques and background knowledge. Logbooks are included in the cost of the course. Based on the RYA Level Two syllabus, this course covers all you need to know to get you sailing safely in sheltered conditions. On Wednesday 7 August nine Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children aged 16 to 19 visited Herts Young Mariners Base in Cheshunt for a day of water sport activities. The morning consisted of open boat canoeing followed by a kayaking session which included kayak polo. After lunch the group learned the basics of SUPing (stand up paddle-boarding).
