• DO I NEED TO BE ABLE TO SWIM?
HYMB does not require you to be able to swim, but you must be confident in water, wearing a floatation device.
• HOW OLD DO I NEED TO BE?
HYMB works with young people from the age of 8. We have no upper age limit, but please ensure that you book on the right age appropriate course. For more information about this please call us on 01992 628403.
• WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?
HYMB runs activities in all weather except for lightning storms. Please ensure participants come correctly dressed for the weather. HYMB has a limited supply of waterproofs that can be provided if required. The only other time that weather affects our operations is if the lake freezes. In this situation, another activity will be made available for you and you will be contacted by HYMB to check that this is ok.
• WHAT DO I NEED TO WEAR?
All participants at HYMB are Recommended to bring a complete change of clothes, shoes, a towel and wear strong sturdy footwear. Please wear clothes suitable for the weather conditions. In the summer months, we strongly recommend covering up, sun cream and a sun hat. During winter participants need to have enough warm layers. If you have booked a caving activity please wear long sleeves, trousers and old trainers.
• HOW CAN I CANCEL OR CHANGE MY BOOKING?
You can cancel your booking by contacting the centre on 01992 628403. Please note HYMB do not transfer or refund bookings. please refer our booking terms and conditions for more information or contact the centre.
• WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Participants will need to bring a complete change of clothes, a water bottle, towel, any relevant qualifications/logbooks as a minimum and if staying the day, a packed lunch. During hot weather, we also recommend that participants bring with them a sun hat and sun cream.
• DO I NEED A WETSUIT?
Most activities at HYMB do not require a wetsuit. However, if participants are booked on stand up paddleboarding or foundation safety and rescue techniques activity we advise participants to wear wetsuits. HYMB can provide these if required.
• WHAT ARE YOUR OPENING HOURS?
HYMB’s office opening times are Monday to Friday 9am-5pm and Saturdays 9am-12noon. The centre may be open at other times, but bookings may not be taken. Please see our Opening Times.

• DO YOU HAVE PARKING AT HYMB?
HYMB does have parking on-site for all centre users, however, please be aware that this can get quite busy at peak times.

• WHAT FACILITIES DO YOU HAVE?
HYMB offers changing/toileting facilities for adults, juniors and wheel chair users. We have hot and cold drinks machine and a snack machine. We have a parent waiting area with free wifi access and a sheltered balcony for lunches or viewing of activities.
• WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOUR STAFF HAVE?
All HYMB staff hold the relevant qualifications for the activity they will be instructing, in addition to a first aid qualification and a Disclosure and Barring Service certificate (DBS).
• CAN A FRIEND/FAMILY MEMBER COME AND WATCH?
HYMB welcomes visitors to the centre. Any visitor who wishes to stay on-site just needs to sign in at reception and can wait in the reception area or the balcony.
• DO I NEED INSURANCE?
HYMB is insured for public and employers liability. Please contact us for more information on this. We are aware some participants may wish to take out other forms of insurance in case of injury or if there is a need to cancel your booking at late notice.
• DO YOU DO BIRTHDAY PARTIES?
HYMB does do birthday parties. Please see our ‘Birthday Parties‘ page for more information on this.
• I’M UNSURE ABOUT BOOKING ONLINE. IS IT SAFE?
HYMB takes all Card payments via approved secure payment gateways. Your personal data safety is important to us and our systems have the very latest security software.
• WHAT PAYMENT METHODS CAN I USE?
HYMB recognizes the following forms of payment:
Cards (Visa Debit/Electron/Meastro/Mastercard Online or over the phone
Card or cash in the centre.
No booking is confirmed until full payment has been received and cleared.
• DO YOU PROVIDE ACCOMMODATION?
HYMB, unfortunately, cannot provide accommodation other than camping for bonafide youth groups. Please see our ‘Accomodation‘ page for more information on accommodation nearby.
• DO YOU CATER FOR PARTICIPANTS WITH DISABILITIES/SPECIAL NEEDS?
HYMB aims to be as inclusive as possible within our facilities activities.
